Who is Natur-elle

Natur-elle is a Dutch label which has been founded in 2007 by me, Liesbeth Oldeman. 

Let me introduce myself

After my study Industriel Design at the de Technical University in Delft I first have worked three years as Product Manager at Philips DAP. Then in 1997 I have founded my first company, Ellectrique Design. A store located in Utrecht which is specialized in luxury and beautiful designed small electrical appliances. Later on this company did grow further on the internet. End of 2006 I became interested in being more creative and in sustainable business. With my background as industrial designer in combination with my love for textile fabrics (prcoessing) the start of my second company, Natur-elle, in 2007 was a logical result.

Since the production of most fabrics, like normal cotton, is very bad for the environment and that the working circumstances in the textile industry were not as good as one should expect, the choice of working with organic fabrics was easily made. It is therefor a conscious choice that we only work with European sewing ateliers. In this way I am sure that our collections are being produced by hand under fair and safe working conditions.

Philosophy

My goal is to design with the available ecological fabrics stylish and functional products which fit to the modern lifestyle. For my designs I am still using a lot of pure unbleeched organic cotton. But since more and more beautiful printed organic fabrics are being introduced, our collections will also increase with new colorful products. When designing I am not limiting myself to a certain target group. Because I love to create sweet and soft products for the little ones, but I also like very much designing several different stylish accessories for adults and our homes.
